A Little About Me
I was raised on a dairy farm. I am one of five children and my parents have been married for 45 years! I have been married for 19 years and we have one child that attends a local private school. I am a Secondary Ed/Language Arts major. I am currently a junior. I am hoping to teach at the private school where my daughter attends at least while she is still in school.
I really enjoy literature and I hope to pass along my love of great literature to my students. I also love photography. I currently take most of the action athletic pictures for my daughter's school yearbook. I feel I have gotten pretty good at taking photos. Like any hobby, it is pretty expensive keeping up with the newest technology. It would be my desire to share my love of photography with my students as well.
Randy Pausch and Time Management
I have to admit to being a closet procrastinator. My family might disagree about the closet part though! I don’t enjoy putting things off and it makes me crazy to not get things finished. Still, there I am with no more time left and tons of things that still need to get completed.
Fortunately, I don’t seem to have a problem with managing my time with my school work. Everything else goes on pause until I get my school work complete. This means, of course that my house is a wreck and I spend my Saturdays trying to straighten things up and do a hit and miss clean!
I like what Randy talked about in his video about making a list. I do make lists for my academic work, just not for housework! Maybe if I organize my weekends like I struggle to organize my weeks, I would do better at getting all my chores completed. Randy talked about not beating yourself up if you don’t finish the list. I liked that – I am constantly beating myself up over the things that may not ever matter!
Busy students, teachers and parents would do well to take a note from Randy Pausch’s lecture – I DID!
Grandmothers always win!
ReplyDeleteI love photography as well. What kind of camera do you have?
Did you search to find out more about Dr. Pausch in answer to the question Who is Dr. Pausch?
I have a Nikon D5000. I own two high powered lenses. One is a 70-300mm telephoto lens and the other is a 70-200mm 2.8 low light lens. You can see many of my photos on my Facebook page.
ReplyDeleteI did do a bit of background on Dr. Pausch. I found it amazing that he published his knowledge on time management when his time was so limited. It makes you want to evaluate your life a bit more closely!
